STAR TREK CINEMA 2000 HAS A STARDATE WITH DESTINY
Fleer Captures all your Favorite Movie Moments in Star Trek Cinema
MT. LAUREL, N.J. - NOV. 20, 2000 - Star Trek has been steadily gaining popularity in the hobby industry throughout the last few years, and Fleer has been there to capture it all. The upcoming Star Trek Cinema edition of Star Trek trading cards is one of the best sets Fleer has ever developed. With a thicker-card stock, cutting-edge technologies and more chase cards than ever before, Cinema should prove to be the Star Trek craze of the year.
The basic-card set of Star Trek Cinema 2000 consists of 81 cards all presenting a new look at various moments in Star Trek's big-screen history. The 81 cards are made up of nine moments from each of the nine Star Trek films with compelling quotes to complete the cards.
Also included in the basic-set are two subsets: Female Guest Stars and The Dark Side. Female Guest stars is a nine-card set that profiles the major heroine or vixen in each motion picture. The Dark Side is a nine-card set that examines the dangerous foes and misunderstood villains who challenged our heroes on the silver screen.
One of the main highlights of this new Star Trek delight is the amazing Autographs that can be found. Star Trek fans can now own their own signature of Patrick Stewart, Jonathon Frakes, Alan Ruck, Robert Hooks, Michael Welch, Jane Wyatt, Spice Williams and many more.
Serially numbered cards have also made their way to Star Trek in Galactic Conflix, which features various space disputes captured on plastic die-cut cards with a metal-flake technology. These unique gems are numbered to only 1,000.
A special insert included in Star Trek Cinema is Dr. McCoy: A Tribute. This 3-D Lenticular set honors the late DeForest Kelley, who played everyone's favorite 23rd Century doctor for 25 years.
Another insert honoring some Star Trek greats is Saluting the Captains, which brings collectors and fans up close and personal with all nine Starfleet captains on brilliantly designed holo-foil cards. Captain James T. Kirk, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Captain Spock and Captain Hikaru Sulu are all included along with many others.
Other inserts included in the set are Alien Worlds and Movie Posters, which both feature magnificent remembered moments from the big screen. The available stardate for Star Trek Cinema 2000 is November 29 with an SRP of $2.99 (8-card pack). The complete set includes:
