Changes to the TOS 40th Anniv. set since press
release: |
|
|
We previously were going to
use a movie preview card for the upcoming Star Trek feature film,
but we've decided to change that to the Joanne Linville autograph
card (A136), which I think everyone will agree is a better, more
desirable card.
First, we have increased the number
of sticker cards (see attached for a sample) from 1 per box to 2 per
box, so that it's now possible to complete a set of stickers within
1 case. There will be 18 stickers in all, and they will be
reminiscent of the Star Trek stickers issued in 1976. Second, the
James Doohan cut signature card will be sequentially numbered.
Rittenhouse's Press Release:

According to an NSU article, the Roddenberry family kept a few
copies of the Gene R cut signature card, making less then 25 in the
packs. |
|
|
Details on the Eugene Jr card as
follows from Steve Charendoff: "Just to clarify the Eugene
Roddenberry card, this is a tribute card to Gene Roddenberry, with
only his picture on the front of the card. His son Eugene has signed
the back of the card, with a message of thanks for support, etc.
over the last 40 years. It is NOT an autograph card in the style or
mode of the regular autographs. It is also not taking the place of
any other card in the set. We added it at the last minute as a bonus
card. " |

One of my roving reporters (yah, Rory!) reports Walter Koenig has
an autograph card done up in the Animated Series, likely for a future
card set?

Discovered a variant image on the QA4 Little Lady quote card that
was created especially for Walter Koenig. Between 100 to 500 were
created for Walter to use for his personal signings. (Thanks, Rory!)

Information
|
 |
Visit Rittenhouse's
Website to learn more about this program, but basically, any
wrapper with a point on the back can be redeemed for goodies at
Rittenhouse's Site. These goodies cover much of their product line,
but we'll focus on Trek. The image to the left will show you many
of the cards available. Much are uncut sheets or pen/colored sketches
of released cards. A few are unreleased sketches and two are sketch
versions of the artifex cards.
Only collectors are eligible and you can redeem up to 2 cases of
the same type of products without a receipt. Basically, they are
not wanting dealers to sell wrappers or collectors to buy wrappers
