All current troubleshooting efforts refer to the Java version of the menu.
If you are having trouble with other sections of CCO, please email
Lynne.
1. Ensure that you are using the latest version of your browser software.
Microsoft and Netscape are continually making changes to the Virtual Java
Machine included with their software.
Netscape Communicator
Microsoft Internet Explorer
2a. Windows Users: If you have a choice between Netscape and Microsoft, Internet Explorer
5.0 is a much better choice for viewing frames and Java applets. Several
scroll-bar and text-wrapping issues occur only in Netscape.
2b. Macintosh Users: If you have a choice between Netscape and Microsoft,
Netscape Navigator
is a much better choice for viewing frames and Java applets. Several
failures have been reported under Microsoft IE for Mac.
3. Those of you who have visited the site prior to August 22, 1999 should
ensure that your browser's cache has been deleted. The Java applet was
modified to be uncacheable at this date, but earlier versions were known
to be retrieved from cache instead of using the current applet.
4. If you cannot scroll the applet up and down, it is likely that the frame
scroll-bar is covering the applet scroll-bar. This can usually be solved
by maximizing your browser window, hiding tool-bars using your browser's
View menu, changing the tool-bars to display smaller icons/text only,
and/or ensuring that your Windows taskbar is set to Auto-Hide. If this change in your display is unacceptable, please continue to use the
non-Java menus.
5. If you receive an error similar to 'The requested URL /cco/fmenu800.html
was not found on this server.', it is likely that you are using a screen
resolution we have not planned for. Email
Lynne and let her know your screen resolution. Continue to use the
non-Java menus until your resolution is added to our configuration.
