12/14/04-Just to let you know we've implemented a new feature I'ts called *It's Mine Now* and it a buy it now options sellers can set when listing an item. An item can be listed at (for example) $1 with an option to buy it outright at the IMN price of say, $20. This option doesn't go away if someoone places a bid. The auctionne ends immediately after the IMN price is met. An auctionne can also be listed at $20 with IMN option of $20, more like a straight sale. Now, we're pretty sure the feature works and we've tested it a bit, but obvoulsy if some bug rears it's ugly head no seller can be held by our error.
Sellers can see this feature when adding items. Buyers will notice it on the bidding screen. A proxy equal to the IMN price will win the auctionne. a proxy just below the IMN prixe will not.
You can sign up for the Auctionne here:
http://www.jklm.net/cgi-bin/st/auction.cgi?1&1&u
Select an alias and a password will be generated for you and emailed in your ocnfirmation e-mail.. If you dont receive this email, you may have made an error in your email address. This password can be changed to soemthing more suited by going to the auctionne and selecting CHANGE PASSWORD, a link on each page.
Bids can be placed when clicking on the item from any of the category listings. If you wish to place one bid and let the Auctionne bid up to your max bid, then you can overwrite the Minimum bid with a Max bid. As another bidder bids on that item, the Auctionne will compare it to your proxy bid and raise you as needed to maintain the high bid. You can tell if someone is bidding against you if you see bids made by you after the initial proxy is placed. An Auctionne has a specific ending date and that is listed in the description, however, an Auctionne will not end if there has been a bid in the past 24 hours. This avoids something the Auctionne Goddess dislikes, sniping. An Auctionne ends when interest dies, not with a frantic last minute bidding frenzy. Some would say this removes some of the excitement..true...but then it also removes the potential disappointment in missing an Auctionne end because you forgot or were unable to access the system for whatever reason.
For example, if an item is listed on Monday at 10 AM, and is a 5 day Auctionne and only one person bids on Tuesday, it will sell Sunday at 10 AM. If a bid is placed on Saturday at 9 AM, the Auctionne will close at Sunday at 10 AM as usual. Should someone come along and bid on the item at 8 PM Saturday night, the Auctionne will be extended until Sunday 8 PM. This process continues until no one bids again for 24 hours at which point, the Auctionne closes. Don't fret, there IS a clock and a notification on the bidding screen of closing dates.
There are no listing fees or winning fees, only a small fee if the Auctionne sells your item.
Fees are:
Some sellers prefer not to get involved in the hassles of listing, selling, collecting payment and shipping the items. If this is of interest to you, please contact me at lynne@jklm.net If you send the items to me, I will sell the items for you at a sl. higher commission. This is esp helpful for overseas collectors. (My fee is usually 10% barring unusual circumstances.)
Shipping is the responsibility of buyer, but it is the responsibility of the seller to keep these prices fair. Please keep in mind bidders are buying items from many people and shipping alone could kill the bankroll if we can't keep shipping prices fair. Things like insurance should be addressed in advance, many people have different opinions of who is responsible for lost or damaged items, so work it out in advance.
Bidders-be prompt with payment. Sellers, ship promptly and safely. Honestly, those are really the only rules to consider. All else falls into place after that,
Contact sellers about payment options, I, for example accept credit cards, so stcardgeek or any of the consignment accounts (#auctionnegoddess) are payable by credit cards. BIDPAY USERS: If trying to pay with Bidpay: From an email I received inquiring on some troubles some people had with BidPay:
When placing an order for an auction on jklm.net/st-auction/, use the FULL URL of one of the items you won, so the website can follow the link to make sure we are real. Find your item in CLOSED AUCTIONNES and use that URL. Email me with any questions.
The best thing about the Internet is I feel I know most of you. Most of the people consigning items, I consider friends and trust you to take this seriously. I typed up all this yuck for the few bad eggs(intentionally or unintentionally) who are out there. I have enjoyed my dealings with all of you very much. I don't see that changing. But, I feel by taking this auction web-wise, rather then a casual e-mail auction, that a certain degree of accountability goes with it.
For a general listing of cards I consider ok: visit http://www.jklm.net/atn/odd.htm
Misc. Notes:
We have no real way to block certain bidders from bidding on specfic seller's auctionnes. If you have reasons for not wanting someone bidding on your items, contact me with the details and I will assist you, bidding on the item to get control away form the offensive bidder isn't the route to take.
Each item is considered a separate transaction. When an item is sold, the consignor and bidder will receive an e-mail notice and each other's e-mail address. Arrangements must be made for that item at that time. It is the consignor's choice if he will allow you to wait until any other items that also belong to him are won by you. But, feel free to let him know you are interested in other items of his and see if it can be worked out.
ALL CONSIGNORS AND BIDDERS RAISE YOUR RIGHT HAND. I hereby swear to honor any deals I make on Lynne's Auctionne. If I bid, I promise to send payment promptly, if I sell, I promise to send items in condition stated and promptly. I understand that occasionally reality intrudes, but will try to keep the other party aware of my circumstances. Both parties agree to maintain e-mail contact while working out details. Please keep copies of all e-mails.
If there is a problem with the bidder, these steps must be taken in this order:
You think that's bad, look at the consignor's rules! I expect consignors to on their best behavior! If a bidder feels he was wronged, please take these steps:
The THREE STRIKES-YER OUT rule is in effect for lesser issues of tardiness, poor packing, poor description. If I am told that a consignor is consistently doing the above, I will take him to task about it. If I have to take the consignor to task three times, he will no longer be allowed to consign items.
AUCTIONNE GODDESS GOES MAD dispute process
What to do if you feel I am the problem. E-mail me with your complaints, keep copies of e-mail. If I do not resolve the problem to your liking or I have done something you do not like, and don't address it after you have complained again, e-mail three collecting friends If they agree I am not acting properly, send me copies of their e-mail, so I can see their opinion. If my response is still not to your liking, please send a posting to these newsgroups and tell everybody I am a bum.
